Under the innovative artistic direction of Yauri Dalencour, Yauri Dalencour Dance is a mid-Atlantic-based multi and interdisciplinary arts organization. The organization’s mission is to use dance to connect human experiences, identity, and personal narratives through the lens of culture.

I  carefully crafted each class for each age group and dance style/technique, emphasizing development, growth, and the further blossoming of self-esteem and self-confidence. Through this artistic and pedagogical approach, I encourage dancers to embody and embrace personal identity, identify movements within a cultural context and connect artistic expression to heritage and humanity.

I want dancers to use their gifts to impact the community through their creative voice and use dance, imagination, and reimagination as a resource engendering creative problem-solving and writing new narratives.

Location

Our school’s studio space, STREAM Studio Labs, is in the Historic District of Leesburg, also known as Leesburg’s Arts District. Leesburg is in Loudoun County, the wealthiest county in the United States. Fun fact: During the War of 1812, Leesburg, Virginia, served as the capital of the United States when valuable papers from federal archives were brought to town for safekeeping. As we know, Maryland and Virginia both gave up land now known as Washington, DC, the location that now serves our nation’s capital.

As a native of NoVa (Northern Virginia), having grown up in Fairfax Co and studying dance since my adolescence, I am proud to return home to the DMV, having pursued my career in NYC and California. I am excited to offer the community dance and art, engage in culture and creativity, and connect with the landscape here in NoVa and beyond. I aim to draw from the culture, history, and influential agricultural landscape of historic plantations and farms, viticulture, distilleries, and equestrian life.

Our school’s location boasts of 2K square feet, high ceilings, dramatic lighting, restrooms, a waiting area, retail counter and small lobby area. Our studio offers closed circuit viewing for parents and guests, transforms into an exhibition space as well as performance space and film showing event space.

We offer both surround sound as well as live accompaniment for dance classes. Our studios have marly spring floors, mirrors, and barres for Dunham-based classes and Ballet. The entrance is on the parking lot side of the building, which is off of South King Street on the right, driving north on 15. Driving south, our building is on the left. We offer 17 parking spaces shared with the cafe, Goosecup, downstairs and are next to the park where we hold various performances.

Performances are also held at the outdoor space of our studio location and throughout NoVa, along with our Pop-Up Classes. You can find our Pop-Up Classes in Haymarket, Reston, Arlington, Middleburg, and other towns throughout Prince William Co, Fairfax Co, and Loudoun Co!
