  • The Dance Ensemble (8th – 9th grades)
  • The Repertoire Collective (11th – 12th grades)

Our Junior Dance Company Program is a specialized training initiative tailored for three distinct age groups: 7th to 8th graders (The Movement Troupe), 9th to 10th graders (The Dance Ensemble), and 11th to 12th graders (The Repertoire Collective). This program goes beyond the foundational training provided in our Academy for K-6th graders, delving into the unique characteristics, interests, and developmental stages of each junior group.

In this program, we recognize the vibrant energy, powerful voices, and boundless curiosity and imagination of our young dancers. With a curriculum designed to meet the evolving needs of each age bracket, our dedicated instructors, who bring a wealth of expertise, guide students through a journey that goes beyond mere dance steps.

As an educator, I firmly believe in the transformative power of dance. Beyond honing physical skills, our program is crafted to instill confidence, foster teamwork, and nurture a deep appreciation for the arts. The Junior Dance Company with three sections is not just a place to learn dance; it’s a community that celebrates the joy of movement, builds and performance – engaging in storytelling through movement and the limitless creativity of young dancers.

Junior Company

  • The Movement Troupe, 6-7:30p, Mondays
  • The Dance Ensemble, 7-8:30p, Tuesdays
  • The Repertoire Collective, 4:40p-6p, Saturdays

Through classes from modern, jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet and more, there is a distinct emphasis placed on the creative process, performance, and presentation, recognizing these as integral components of a comprehensive dance education. Young dancers not only refine their technical skills through class instruction and training but through development of works and showings. Through collaborative projects, choreography workshops, and performance opportunities, students in the 7th to 12th-grade groups experience the transformative power of self-expression.

Igniting artistic voices, allowing dancers to contribute to the choreographic process, cultivate stage presence, and develop a profound understanding of the art of dance presentation, we believe this holistic approach not only facilitates the growth of proficient performers but helps students gain a deep appreciation for the creative journey that shapes their unique contributions to the world of dance.
