Artistic Dirctor

Ms. Yauri is a an interdisciplinary dancer/vis artist. Her training includes Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, dance and interdisciplinary arts degree training programs and various NYC; Genoa, Italy and Burgos, Spain dance studios during her time living and studying in those locations. In undergrad, she carried a second major in International Studies and minored in African American/Ethnic and Women’s Studies. She is the founder of Yauri Dalencour Dance and is CEO/Owner of Dancetime Publications, Editorial Board Member of the academic journal DEiP and is a full spectrum doula. Concerned with intersections between art, culture, education and technology, Yauri is a storyteller using dance, visual art, installation and new media in her works. She resides with her husband, their five kids and dog, Harlem in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
