My mixed-skill set, left and right brain engagement, multifaceted vantage point and multi-layered journey into design, works to my advantage. My dynamic perspective framework and diverse lens, creative strategy and visionary insight is what your brand needs.

I use deep design research to look, listen, learn and live within the challenge. I love strategizing and engaging in creative problem solving from ideation sessions to UX writing to using color, shape and form to bring great user experience together.

THE WAY I WORK

DIVERSE MARKETS + INCLUSION

Our society is riddled with institutionalized and systemic racism. Being a good designer means we are aware of this, and in our work, we are inclusive in the users we engage.

It means we understand differences others have from ourselves and reasons why they exist and that when we carry out our work, we assess and address our biases, perspectives, and world-views.

No matter how innocent or unintentional, relying on stereotypes, “isms”, socially constructed knowledge, assumptions, and unconscious bias clouds our thinking about people, their behaviors, and experiences.

Engaging users with an open mind allows us to grow greater empathy for them, identify the root problem and strategize how to solve it as we move through the research process.

As sound designers, we advocate for our users providing space for a voice they already own and a narrative that already belongs to them. This mission is top of mind when I design. It is inclusive design.

Below is the Design Process I created and use as my guide:

Before becoming a lead designer and Founding Team Member at a Washington DC based Fortune 10 firm, I worked with companies in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. This group of tech companies includes startups at incubators 500StartUps and Stanford StartX, healthcare startup Counsyl acquired by Meridian Health, IDEO, OSMO, the machine learning and data analytics start up, MatterMark and Gap Jumpers, a hiring startup focusing on diversity.
